SQA Interview Analytical Questions

A Software Quality Assurance Engineer must have very good analytical skills. Your critical thinking, logical and analytical skills and the ability to think out of the box make you a good resource in SQA field. If you don't have good analytical skills then you must solve analytical problems as much as possible, this is the only way to improve your analytical skills.
Here I have mentioned few of the famous questions which are usually asked in interviews. Try to solve them by yourself no matter how much time would it take.

Question 1:
There are three boxes, one contains only apples, one contains only oranges, and one contains both apples and oranges. All of the boxes have been incorrectly labeled such that no label identifies the actual contents of the box it labels. Opening just one box, and without looking in the box, you take out one piece of fruit. By looking at the fruit, how can you immediately label all of the boxes correctly?

Question 2:
You have a 3 and a 5 liter water container, each container has no markings except for that which gives you it's total volume. You also have a running tap. You must use the containers and the tap in such away as to exactly measure out 4 liters of water. How is this done?

 

Question 3:
There are 4 light bulbs in a room and 4 switches corresponding to these four light bulbs (in a random order) in another room. You cannot see the light bulbs from the room where the switches are. You can only once visit the switch room, perform whatever action you want with the switches and visit the light bulb room and tell the which switch is for which light bulb?

Question 4:
Out of eight balls, seven balls weigh equal while the one ball is slightly heavier than the others how would you figure out which one is the heavier by using a balance and only two weighing?

Question 5:
Which number does not belong to this series 1,1,2,3,4,5,8,13,21?

Question 6:
Some months have 30 days, and some have 31, how may months have 28 days?

Question 7:
Why are manhole covers round?

Question 8:
At the end of a banquet 10 people shake hands with each other. How many handshakes will there be in total?

Question 9:
A blind man has 4 tablets in his hand, 2 are blue and the other 2 are white. Size, taste and smell everything is same of all 4 tablets. Those 4 tablets are unwrapped. The blind person has to take 1white and 1 blue tablet. If he takes
2 white or 2 blue tablets the he will die. No one is there to guide him. How would he take 1 white and 1 blue tablet?

Question 10:
A birthday cake has to be equally divided into 8 equal pieces in exactly 3 cuts. Determine the way to make this division possible.

Question 11:
A tap fills a tank in 15 mins, another tap fills the same tank in 10 mins. How much time will those take if they run at the same time to fill this tank?

 Question 12:
A frog was at the bottom of a well that is 30 feet deep. It jumps 3 feet each day and falls back 2 feet each day. How many days will it take to reach the top?

Question 13:



There are only 3 doors that you can open in order to continue to your destination. A killer is hiding behind the first and a lion that hasn’t eaten in 3 years behind the second. Behind the third one you will find a massive fire.
